Jay Margrave
Saturday 1:45 pm Humanities R52 From Jamaica to the Crimea – A Research Journey

Jay Margrave will talk about how she conducts her research for her novels, the last one being, Can her glory ever fade: a life of Mary Seacole. For this novel, Jay travelled to Jamaica to find out more about her character's early life and had also travelled to the Crimea to see the place where Mary Seacole was involved in the Crimean War; but, worry not, she also carries out research from her desk and will describe how other writers can do likewise.

Open to all, just turn up.

Milly Johnson
Saturday PM after Gala Dinner Untitled

Milly Johnson is a Sunday Times top five bestselling author. Her novels are about the universal issues of friendship, family, betrayal, rather nice food and a little bit of that magic in life that sometimes visits the unsuspecting.

As well as being the author of fourteen completed books she is a columnist, greetings card copywriter, poet and BBC broadcaster.

Her latest novel, The Queen of Wishful Thinking, was published by Simon & Schuster in May 2017.
