Members' Competitions 2026

The Competitions are now CLOSED and judging is taking place.
Judging for 2026 is now underway - Good Luck!
Competition Categories:
- Open poetry - any form or style.
- Formal poem - a sonnet.
- Short story with included object - a rusty chisel.
- Historical fiction - entry should be based on actual historic events or set in a particular historical era.
- Ghost / horror story.
- Science fiction / fantasy.
- Romantic fiction.
- Comedy writing.
- Science & nature article - any subject suitable for a general readership.
- A "how to" guide - may be serious (how to write a blockbuster novel), satirical (how to trash the economy in one mini budget) or comic (how to murder your husband).
- Crime fiction.
- Memoir - an actual happening.
- Ten minute play or monologue - one page equals one minute of a play.
- Short story or poem by sponsored child.
- Group anthology.
