Annie Percik's debut novel, The Defiant Spark, has been published. It’s a fantasy novel, set in a world without electricity, where artisans control access to the mana that powers everything. The protagonist, Abelard, provides magical artefact support until an accident gives him artisan powers. When he discovers a centuries-old secret at the heart of artisan society, Abelard has to choose between the life he has always wanted and giving up everything to bring the artisans down.
